Lizards!

And I thought I was the only one eyeing the coconuts!!!

The lizard population in my garden is growing by leaps and bounds!
Or is it because of blogging that I'm keeping an eye on any kind
of movement?! Found this one regally resting on my neighbour's
young Neem tree. I managed one shot from my kitchen window before
it sensed my interest, then it bounded off into the unknown.

With all the rain that we received in August I had to transplant
some plants into pots. I pulled out a poinsettia (no digging in
all that slush) to plant in a large pot. Guess who was on it??
A baby lizard sans a tail! Hoping that it wouldn't leap into the
midst of plants, I took out my ever-present camera and got these
shots.

It stayed motionless for a few minutes and then realized it needed
to beat a hasty retreat!

I'm wondering--do all baby lizards have that look of perpetual
surprise on their cute little faces?

As for the adults, it's the seen-it-all-done-it-all look!
Talk about sheer (l)wizardry on the barbed wire!!!

Kanak you have a zoo on your property. Those Komodo dragons :-) are well camouflaged!

Lizards, an interesting element of garden. A sign that things are alive!

What I like about lizards is that they prey on the mosquitoes. I always wonder at their ability to hang stationary, upside down from the ceiling. However, the most scary part is when they shed off their tail in defence. Seing the tail wringling around gives me the goose pimples.

Such cute pictures Kanak. My sister lives about 7 hours north of me. When she visits, she does not like to see our garden lizards!!! One night, she had a dream that one was on her bed side table drinking her glass of water!!!

Great shots Kanak. I haven't seen lizards in that quantity since I lived in TX. :)

Lizards seem to be less colourful than dragonflies. But the pictures are very good.

I bet the population is growing because your garden is growing and maturing and you are also watching closer:)

Kanak,
It's so cool to see how differently your lizards look than ours. We have lots of them scurrying around here. I like them for eating bugs. Looked through your dragon flies, too. So pretty -- you captured some very nice photos of them. I can tell you are enjoying seeing nature so closely.

What a pretty butterly in your header!

Helen...hehe...Komodos indeed! They do blend so well into the bark of trees!

Bangchik & Kakdah, I so agree with you.

Autumn Belle, that's ok with me. It does feel good to see them the moment you're outside the house.

Mildred, I suppose if you have a thing for them, no imagination seems weird. LOL!! That's so funny!!

Thanks Racqel. There were a few more but I didn't want to overdo it;)

Susie, I remember your lizard photos. Wish we had green ones here too.

Karrita, nothing like it!!

Hi Ashley, I'm touched by this. Thank you so much! I'll be at yours again.

Padma, here they are either grey or brown!!

Tina, so true, the way you've put it. New plant additions attracting more wildlife.

Meems, thank you for stopping by. And for the comment about my header. It's the Common Jester I photographed on the forest floor.

About the lizards we don't have much variation when it comes to colour. And thanks for mentioning the dragonflies!
