What's Blooming Now?

The red bleeding heart has turned out to be a profuse
bloomer. And she's been at it for more than a month!
Quite the bloom that anyone would like to see first
thing in the mornings!

The fittonia is flourishing in partial shade and is also
blooming. The blooms are yellow and really tiny.

When I bought this azalea from Shillong in April, I prayed
and prayed that it would survive the heat of Guwahati. It
has somehow not only lived to tell the tale but is in bloom!
And there are two more buds too!

******************************************************************

These two photos of the Rangoon Creeper blooms were taken in
summer. Looking back to this year's blooms, there were many
that brought me much joy. But this one came back from a brush
with death...obvious Guwahati reasons are rain, and more rain
followed by flooding. I simply love the way it changes colour.

The blooms are white when they first appear. Then they turn
to a light shade of pink. When this change takes place dark
pink stripes form at the back. Finally the whole flower turns
a dark pink before it withers and fades away. These were shot
in the kitchen. My earlier post on the same flower has photos
taken outside.

Beautiful blooms on that Red Bleeding heart and the Rangoon Creeper is so sweet too.

I agree-what a ton of blooms on that pretty pretty bleeding heart. I am also glad your azalea thrived. They do well here in the heat; just don't like clay soil which is what I have:(

That Rangoon creeper is a neat plant. I love how you get three different colors on the same plant before the bloom wilts. It's bloom reminds me somewhat of a flowering tobacco(Nicotiana). The azalea looks very nice and healthy.

All the blooms are pretty, but that azalea is such a pretty color. I am so happy that it is doing well for you.

It's so nice to come here and enjoy your flowers. We have lots of snow here in Canada, so I look forward to peeking into gardens around the world.
Lovely bleeding hearts. I have some in my front yard (sleeping soundly now). Azaleas are one of my favourite flower, but don't grow well for me. We buy them in pots here for indoor blooming. They bloom only once and then not again (at least for me).

Rangoon's my favorite. I once saw them in a house covering the entrance-arch with different colored flowers hanging down and decided I wanted it and finally did get it last month. It's yet to bloom though.
Bleeding heart looks so stunning!

The red bleeding heart is lovely. Have you seen the white-and-red variety of bleeding heart vine (Clerodendron thomsoniae)? Those flowers are stunning, too, more so because of the colour contrast.

Thanks Racquel...with colours good enough to eat!!

Tina, for me it's the summer flooding, which is why I have it in a pot. Thanks, I'll remember that clayey soil part.

Thanks Susie, I've never grown a Nicotiana but now that you've mentioned it, I'll look it up.

Thanks Mildred. It's such a new thing for me--growing one azalea, just one, yet I'm all gaga over it!!

Thank you so much Wendy. It really must be SO cold there. I'm glad if the sight of my blooms makes you think, even if momentarily, of sunny days!! Thanks for the azalea info.

A friend has an arch like the one you mentioned, Chandramouli. The blooms look even better displayed like that. A good buy. And the blooms last for months, which really is the best part. Glad you loved the b.hearts.

Anonymous, thanks. Yes, I have the other one too but not blooming at the moment. You're right about the contrast...it does say--LOOK AT ME!! And thanks for providing the botanical name.

I do like the Rangoon creeper with its flowers of different colours. So lovely to come to your site and see lots of flowers. The advantage of global blogging!

Gorgeous photos, many of plants I've never heard of, but of course, that isn't saying much. I never had pretensions about knowing much about flowers, and that actually makes my enjoyment of yours all the more delicious.

Hi Kanak, what a fabulous flower with those changes on the Rangoon creeper! The bleeding heart is a beauty also. I wanted to thank you here for that very sweet comment on the yule log post, it made my heart sing. I appreciate you very much!

Thanks Easygardener. Lovely to read your comment.

WS, I can understand about the name part...many a time they escape my memory too!! Thanks for being here.

Hi Frances, thanks for stopping by. Honestly, the image of your Yule log is haunting me. It's making me think about possibilities of being creative with foliage and fruit. But alas! Such spectacular berries or leaves aren't so easily available! It's still good to imagine though!

Hola Lady Luz! I feel exactly the same when I visit your blog. So many different plants...would surely love to know more about them. Thank you for visiting.

Your bleeding hearts look different from those I grow. They are one of the first plants to bloom in the spring. I'll be sure to show them because I love taking pictures of them.

Yours is quite pretty, too. I like that flower that changes colors. I don't think it grows here.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks Sue, and Merry Christmas to you too!

I'd love to see your bleeding hearts and the Rangoon grows in some states but I can't remember now ( Florida, maybe) but I'll have to check.

So glad to have you stop by again...
