Just Another Day In December

The morning started on a joyful note with this beauty
on the Ixora. I think it's the Common Tiger butterfly
and not to make confusion more confounded, I refuse to
go back to Google school. At least not for now!

Another lovely surprise! I'd bought a tiny azalea in April
at the Shillong Flower Show knowing fully well that our
climate isn't azalea-friendly. Ther's a budding bloom here
in a pink so soft that it almost looks white. I just hope
that it gets acclimatised and in the years to follow, will
bloom...and bloom!

I'd gone to pick up a few things from a shop and was delighted
to see it all decorated for Christmas! The whole atmosphere was
cheerful and the store was dotted with trees. I couldn't resist
taking pictures of all that pretty display.

Stopping at a popular eatery, JB's, I took a shot of this tiny
garden outside. These are the commonly grown plants in traffic
islands also.

Another butterfly in the afternoon. Whitish grey and happily
resting on a bamboo leaf.

Would the day be complete without a sunset shot? This was how
the western horizon looked at 4.16

Kanak, Your pictures tell the story of an absolutely beautiful day. Here in Georgia, we have Encore azaleas that bloom once in the summer and again in early Winter. They are about the only color we have this time of year. It's always such a pleasure to visit your blog.

What a lovely day in December you had Kanak. Butterflies, blooms and beautiful Christmas displays! And that gorgeous sunset was icing on the cake.

It is wonderful to start the day in the garden, see a delicate butterfly, go for a little shopping trip in to a christmas wonderland and back home a fantastic sunset to admire. Kanak, a lovely post of a december day!

What an encouraging post for us! To be honest, I like the outdoor, living things much more than the holiday decor. All is lovely, though.

Love the butterflies and also the shot of the restaurant's pocket garden. Xmas in India, would be curious to hear how that's celebrated in terms of the whole Santa thing. He looks pretty spiffy in his gold suit! :)

That is a cool island with those spiky plants sticking up. Santa is all decked in gold I see. Is that the tradition there?

Thank you all for your comments...about Santa, I was surprised to see that colour. I don't think I've ever even thought of Santa in anything other than red. It's not the tradition--I think the creators just wanted to be different!

I love the Santa too. Looks sooo santa-ish... Couldn't get the right words to describe his cuteness. And the Santa Band too! I've never seen that before! Tell me the truth - I know that butterfly is carved out of ice. Isn't it? It looks so heavenly
