Seemed like a good idea to start off December with a butterfly post! For my last post I'd spent some time on Nilachal Hill in order to get a good view of the city and the river. I never thought I'd get to see so many butterflies, a dragonfly and a large grasshopper. On the lantana and other plants were these (clockwise) 1. Lemon Pansy, 2. Red lacewing 3. Common Sailor 4. Blue sapphire
There a fewer dragonflies now but the butterflies show no signs of slowing down. Thank heavens they'll be keeping me on my toes! I sure need all that exercise;))

Beautiful butterflies! We saw the last of the butterflies here about three weeks ago, and the garden seems strangely empty without them.

ReplyDeleteI would love to be still seeing butterflies Kanak but we have had some night time temperatures of minus 4 centigrade so no chance of seeing any here until next year. Yours are lovely, the Lemon Pansy (which is a beautiful name) reminds me a little of our Speckled Wood.
ReplyDeleteIt was very interesting to read about and see the area you live in, the Brahmaputra river certainly does look 'mighty'. I enjoyed Indrani Raimedhi's poem too.
I also enjoyed the colourful blooms on the post before particularly Gold Shower which is such a lovely colour.

The Pansy varieties are regular visitors here. Except for the Blue Pansy of course, which has remained elusive so far. Another regular visitor is the Grey Pansy.
Thanks for checking out on my older posts too! some words remain ingrained in our minds from childhood:) Like 'mighty' as a descriptive term for rivers and mountains! Wish I could send some warmth your way.....
