Assam Afire

"Assam Afire" screams the headlines of a local paper. October
30 will go down in the annals of Assam's history as Black
Thursday. 12 bombs exploded across the state out of which 3
were in our city. We are no strangers to explosions but this
was the worst ever!

So many deaths and the toll going up now in hospitals and in
nursing homes. Heart-rending stories of victims and family
members, looking for missing relatives, many charred beyond
recognition.

With incidences of mob violence, one area was under curfew
for a few hours the past two days. There's an uneasy calm
right now. Schools remain closed and most people remain con-
fined to the safety of their homes. And as the days pass and
life limps back to normal, we can only hope for safe times and
pray for those innocent lives lost for someone else's selfish
cause.

Kanak, I'm so glad that you and your family are safe. I got to hear about this horrible tragedy yesterday but I had no access to my PC. I was so tense about you.
What horrible, mad times we seem to be living in!
Keep safe, my friend.

There's absolutely nothing I can say.

Just can't, just can't think of anything to say.

It's awful.

Kanak, I'm so glad you are safe and so sad for your city. I hadn't heard this news.

You take care and I will be praying for you and your city.

When I heard of the bombing, I'd hoped it was far from you. I'm saddened and angry at people who are so conceited that they make others die for things they believe in.... and even angrier at the leaders who send out others to die while they hide.

I wish for you peace, safety and joy.

Kanak, The power of your joy, beauty and grace packs a bomb of such goodness greater than the selfish deranged acts of a few. My heart aches for the suffering of those people in a country of such great beauty and loving people. Be safe Kanak, you represent the greatness in humanity and that is what will prevail.
