I had actually gone out in the rain this afternoon armed with
an umbrella and my camera to take photos of the water lilies'
new home. This caught my eye--raindrops dripping down the long
and lovely blades of the ponytail/nolina plant. In the shower
the gate looked like a metallic haze...
This container water garden looked like it could do with some
b-r-e-a-t-h-i-n-g space so I took out an old container and set
about turning it into the plants' new abode. I even got wild aquatic
reeds to be planted here.
I'm still working on this area. In a month's time this patch
should look better than what it is now. The container was
lying in the shed for so long. I'm glad I've been able to
put it to good use!

Watergardens are fun to make and look great. You have got lovely looking leafy plants. What are you doing about the mosquitos; or haven't you got any. Here they are rampant when it is wet. I have fish in my ponds to eat the larvea.
Hi Trudi! I'll soon be adding fish to the water garden. But it isn't going to create much of a difference because ours is a mosquito-infested land!! And we have several marshy areas in the vicinity. The fish will be more of a novelty.
Working outside means using mosquito repellent cream/coil as well as smoke from a piece of rag or coconut husks--otherwise it is impossible!
I just found you on Blotanical....your plants and text are wonderful....at first, I did not see where you live, and I thought maybe California - and now I see you are in India!
Isn't it wonderful to experience so much beauty and wonder from around the world.
I have never heard of banana flowers used in cooking, so I learned something too! Thanks, and I'll check back often.
