All Gardening Is Landscape Painting

So said Alexander Pope. And how true! This little spot is
what you see the moment you walk into our gate. A cheerful,
colourful look was what I had in mind as I prepared the soil
for planting in November. Should I choose an assortment of
blooms or should I stick to just dianthus? Or phlox only?
I pondered... But later, I opted for a whole lot of colour
and I am quite happy with the outcome. The bees and the
butterflies seem to agree too!

The idea of the 'Tipsy Pots' on the left was taken from
Melissa, who has the most amazing pictures
and tips regarding garden junk/art. Many people have
asked me about this. I'm so thankful that bloggers share
so many wonderful ideas....

It also helps that I've got a new camera. Does it show?!
It's a new gift from hubby and I've been out in the sun
trying to shoot an elusive bee, after I was done with the
flowers! And then there was the moon in all its glory! Oh
wait, have I left the stars out????

Edited to add: Since the link above wasn't working, I've
added this. From my bloglist, please click on Empress of Dirt:
The Garden.
to visit Melissa.

Hi Kanak, the corner sure looks great with its lovely mix of colours and textures. Its true that blogging is a very nice medium for exchange of ideas. I too am inspired by your corner landscaping and will try something like this in my garden.
What better gift for a garden blogger than a nice digital camera!!
Best Wishes

I like it too and would leave it just as is. I noticed the tipsy pots right away and am on my way to visit Melissa. Thanks for the link! Lucky you to get a new camera! Good luck catching that bee:)

Kanak, the link did not work for me, I'll try it again later.

Fun to have a new camera! I'm jealous - mine has a scratch on the lens but mostly it's still okay so I haven't replaced it yet. Lovely color pocket, I'm glad you opted for a riot rather than monochrome.

I think this corner looks lovely - the colours should make you happy every time you open the gate. What a warm welcome home! =)
I wish I had a new camera too, it's so much more fun to take pictures with a really good camera. But the one I have will have to do a while longer...

That's a beautiful little welcoming garden. It has such nice and cheery blooms.

Congrats on the new camera. Aren't new gadgets fun?

Hi Kanak, So happy for you with your new camera. What a thoughtful gift. Your welcome spot is just lovely. So cheerful and bright and Nalley loves the rocks along the edge.

Hi Kanak, your garden is lovely. It's such a treat to look at flowers and gardens at this time of year.
How do you water the tipsy pots without all the earth spilling out?
I tried to click on Melissa and it didn't work for me either.

Green thumb, so happy to read your comment. That spot lifts my spirits. I have tried birdhouses too, inspired by Blotanical bloggers. No wonder I keep reading gardening blogs all the time.

Tina, I edited my post and also arranged my blog-list alphabetically. Maybe I should have done it manually rather than clicking on the blogger link icon.

Karen, I had to wait for a long time for the gift...but I'm very happy with it. Still trying to figure out stuff ...never been technologically inclined. I'm a slow learner. Loved reading your comment.

Hi Helen, it sure does! Don't we gardeners try to spread a lot of cheer? People who walk past my house stop to look at the blooms. It makes me feel happy that they stop to catch a moment of beauty...

That's true Susie, especially when I've been using an old model for such a long time. Still trying to figure out many of the features. Thanks!

Carla, thanks. Loved the way you put it.

Thanks Mildred. I'm happy to know that Nalley loves the rocks. I remember reading about his rock collecting hobby. We share the same passion!

Hi Wendy, please click on the link on my blog-list. I've re-arranged it alphabetically to make it convenient.
The earth does not spill out because I haven't filled up the pots to the brim. Once the soil is 'set' it's like using any other regular pot.
Thank you for your comment regarding the blooms.

Good for you, Kanak, now you've got a great new toy. I'm sure you're going to have many happy hours experimenting with it.

Linda/Sunita/Racquel,

Thank you so much! Very happy to read your comments. I'm devoting more time to photography now(?) and I'm pretty happy with the features.
